Reach a person, and get a specific answer

The most useful messages about this platform are narrow ones: this figure looks wrong, this licence term needs clarifying, this bulk run is failing at row 400. Those are all answerable. A general enquiry about whether the platform will suit your business usually is not — the methodology page will answer it faster and more honestly than we can in an email.

Where to send what

Data corrections

Use the in-app feedback route so the analysis reference travels with the message, and include the place and the specific figure. Exports carry source, dataset version and retrieval timestamp per record, so an export is the most precise evidence you can attach.

Licensing and reuse

Read the per-source licence on the data sources page first — most questions are answered there. If yours is not, include which source, which licence identifier and what you intend to do with the data.

OpenStreetMap ODbL terms

Security

Raise privately, and include the affected route, the request, the observed behaviour and the expected behaviour. Authenticated areas must not be probed beyond what demonstrates the issue, and no third-party customer data should be accessed.

Bulk and commercial work

Include approximate site count, the columns needed and the delivery format. Include the agency or partnership context if it applies.

What to expect back

Enquiries receive a reply, and a data correction with a traceable record is treated as a priority rather than a support ticket — if a figure is wrong, every user who ran the same analysis is affected, so provenance failures get looked at properly.

Before you write, two pages answer most questions faster than an email can: how the measurements are produced, including where each pipeline stage can fail, and what each source can and cannot tell you. If a figure surprised you, one of those is usually why — and knowing which limit applied will make the question concrete.

Contact LocateRight: FAQ

I found what looks like wrong data. How do I report it?

Report it through the in-app feedback route so the analysis ID travels with the message. What matters most is the place and the specific figure: the source, the dataset version and the retrieval timestamp are carried on every record, so an export pins exactly what was returned and when. Data corrections are taken seriously because provenance is the product's core claim — a figure that cannot be traced cannot be checked.

Can I use LocateRight data in a report or a published study?

Yes, subject to the licence attached to each source, and the sources differ. WorldPop, ESA WorldCover and Google Open Buildings are CC BY with attribution required. Overture Places is CDLA Permissive 2.0. OpenStreetMap is ODbL, which requires attribution and carries a share-alike obligation on a publicly distributed derived database — the one source where the licence obligation flows back to you. Check the per-source licence on the data sources page and the licence field on each exported record.

Do you offer a partnership, reseller or agency arrangement?

Partnership and agency questions can be raised through the same route as any other enquiry. Include the nature of the work, the volume of sites involved and the timeframe so it can be assessed properly.

How do you report a security issue?

Security reports should be raised privately rather than in a shared channel, and should include the affected route, the request made, the observed behaviour and the expected behaviour. Authenticated areas must not be probed beyond what is needed to demonstrate the issue, and third-party customer data must not be accessed.

Can I get support for a bulk or commercial analysis?

Yes. Bulk address uploads and higher-volume analysis runs are handled through the same enquiry route; include the approximate site count, the columns needed and the delivery format so the request can be scoped accurately.
